Nearly 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast found themselves without power on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events swept through the region, bringing strong winds topping 109km/h.

Large Ice Stones and Widespread Damage

Locals reported large ice chunks as large as 7 centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.

Emergency crews were working to restore electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units working to address the extensive power failures.

Victoria's Weather Woes

Simultaneously, approximately 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also encountered electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area recorded its wettest day in a year and a half.

State Emergency Services received nearly 600 calls for help across the area, mainly for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

• Wyndham area - 179 calls for assistance

During the peak on Sunday, over twenty-eight thousand electricity consumers in Victoria were experiencing outages.

Humid circumstances were expected to linger along large portions of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.

Tuesday was expected to become the most rainy day, with persistent storm activity anticipated across different parts of both regions.

Safety Concern

Medical authorities alerted that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, specifically given the current weather patterns.
