It's difficult for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the record chasers, are the only things left for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

It needed as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It is hard for their batsmen to maintain a record if not afforded the possibility.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia allowing 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Originally famous as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her debut and seven global championships have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "motivated us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She made sure her country would not come up short.

Whether this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Many contend the case for the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it has been a challenging time because it seemed my form was missing at all," said Healy.

"Yet the moment you step out on the field, your fighting spirit activate and you just lock into the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her major advantage - and an invaluable trait in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from that point Healy was on her way.

"An opportunity to go out there and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 as she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was removed Australia needed 66 more at one run per ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the assurance to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we believe we can achieve it."

Those words will be the final thing rival teams at this World Cup need to hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this victory succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

During that phase they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at an important competition.

Such is her determination, she later said she wanted to have participated through the pain.

But while she later admitted those physical issues have postponed thoughts of retirement, this championship is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as skipper.

Success in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
